Life Before Cellphones and Computers
Life before we became dopamine junkie thumb-clickers
What did we do before the massive technological leap that changed society forever? There were no cell-phones, computers, and other devices-at least none available to the public. No Facebook, no Twitter, no scrolling, and no annoying notifications. We had televisions and landline phones, that’s it.
It was better, there was more time and space, we did more and lived more. Time seemed to move slower and we endlessly played.
Mental health and addiction issues have been at least doubling every generation. There definitely is a dark side to technology and the companies that provide all of these machines and gadgets. Of course, we had other problems in the old days-but now it is much, much worse.
On a typical sunny day, we played in the field next to my house on a dead-end street. We rode our bikes everywhere, played games like Capture the Flag, soccer and other sports, and often didn’t even call our friends-we just showed up.
Our weekends were graced by ice cream trucks, beaches, amusement parks, and less sarcastic television shows.
